Hiatal Hernia

November 17, 2015 Leave a Comment

hiatal hernia

Hiatal hernia is a fairly common condition that often goes undiagnosed.  The condition occurs when the stomach pushes or migrates up from the abdominal cavity into the chest cavity. This can be caused from weak ligaments around the esophagus at the point where it pierces the diaphragm.

More often though, there are deeper underlying causes such as Neuro-Emotional Components, adrenal weakness, nutrition deficiencies, or toxins in the body.

Symptoms of a hiatal hernia could include:

  • acid reflux
  • indigestion
  • chest pain
  • difficulty swallowing
  • heart palpitations
  • difficulty in taking a deep breath or difficulty breathing
  • tenderness or pain in the diaphragm, upper abdomen, or solar plexus.

Often times these symptoms can cause anxiety or depression, especially over a long period of time.

Many of these symptoms are treated individually by medication and other treatments, but if the underlying cause is a hiatal hernia, the symptoms will often return until the underlying condition is diagnosed and treated properly.

The vast majority of people with hiatal hernia do not need surgery to correct. By a careful and thorough history and examination, the cause can be found and treated naturally.

When a hiatal hernia is properly diagnosed and all underlying causes for it have been detected, treatment may include a gentle manual adjustment to pull the stomach back to the proper position.

Treatment may also include organic whole food concentrate supplements, Neuro-Emotional Technique (NET), Chiropractic adjustments, and possibly homeopathic remedies.

When properly treated, the stomach will stay in the abdominal cavity where it belongs and the symptoms go away.

If you are suffering from one or more of the aforementioned symptoms and have not yet found a lasting solution, I invite you to contact my office and set up a consultation at no charge.

If I feel I can help you, a thorough examination and report-of-findings will be completed. You will then be offered a treatment plan that gets to the root of the underlying condition causing the problem, bringing balance back to the body so true healing can begin.
